Lazy Days Part 2

Disneyland was great, but 6 straight hours on the go after a toddler loosed on the world was a little much for my 22 week pregnant bride.  Her hips were hurting and our little walking germ had begun passing on the gift that keeps on giving so, today was a good amount of Puffin Rock with one little venture out to a park called la Villet.  La Villette holds events from different countries, is home the Museum of Science and Ministry as well as The Geode a nice gleaming sphere 100 meters from a mall.  Taking photos, even cool photos, of The Geode seem somewhat silly when you realize the backdrop is a mall.  It somewhat ruins the experience.  Oh well…

We went in to the mall for a quick bite while Adah slept before heading back.  We got a delicious pizza, salad and some amazing desserts.  As we enjoyed our meal we saw kicking in our peripheral vision.  Adah was waking up.  “Hello beautiful” what followed was unfortunate.  We went from 0-100 on the breakdown scale in under 45 seconds.  She was inconsolable and it kept building.  We got boxes, strapped her in the ergo and started walking.  It is not often that Adah breaks down like this but when she’s sick it’s much sadder, fluids coming out of every facial opening and screams so gutteral that she almost through up on me.  Not a fun walk home.  As we walked I pointed out all the things she loves:  Ducks, Cars, Trains, People, Buses, Dogs etc.  A few hundred meters from our home she calmed down and asked for her pacie and baby and her meltdown began to subside.

The rest of our evening was a mirror image of our morning.  Meal, picking up, Puffin Rock, Bed.

This time around Paris was not our favorite.  Going getting home because of temperature, nap times of a toddler, darkness at 4:30 make the idea of free flowing vacation seem like a distant memory.  If you’re going to travel with a toddler in the off season make sure you know the length of the day before you go, it is a factor.

Tomorrow’s a travel day, perhaps my heart won’t be beating out of my chest this time..
