After such a long day our kids were zonked. Yes, that’s a word. Adah specifically couldn’t wake up and didn’t wake up til noon when her and I walked towards Disneyland to meetup with Bethany and Spencer. They had been there since around 9:30 or 10 sending all sorts of cute photos.

Paris Disney is very similar in layout to Anaheim Disney but it’s all truncated. So you’ll be able to navigate to and from the different areas with relative ease but you’ll be met with slightly different names and rides than you’re used to. Kind of like one of those dreams where everything seems real and you’ve found a lot of money that you inexplicably get to keep, it feels right but your not sure it should.

We met up for a semi-late lunch and headed on our way. Of course we had to go to Thunder mountain railroad, Spencer’s favorite ride. Also mine. Their take on Thunder Mountain is great, and dare I say better than the Los Angeles equivalent. I do dare say, it is, objectively. It’s not just vacation goggles, it’s better, as is Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain with it’s loop and corkscrew in pitch black, quite a feeling. But you don’t need a ride recap, I’ll save that for the video.

The best part of the day was dinner. I was looking for a reservation, not normally possible day of, but it looked liked their was one at Captain Jack’s – Restaurant Des Pirates (their equivalent to the Blue Bayou). I don’t have a Disneyland account so I told Bethany who got on it and booked us. This ended up being very nice, not only for the downtime but for the special dinner and cake that came with it to celebrate Bethany’s birthday. Given the day before was so chaotic, this was a very nice break to eat good food, rest and be thankful for Bethany.

I love you sweetie.

We did a few more rides, Spencer drove me through the Paris streets in autotopia and Adah’s shotgunned Hyperspace mountain like 3 times back to back. We watched the fireworks light show at the end of the day and started walking home. Our girls were exhausted. Spencer was literally falling asleep while walking so I carried her 1.5km. It was a good day, but a tired day with another early morning.

Goodnight.
