Paris is for Toddlers

By design this trip was meant to be repetitive of our last trip. The idea being that our first time traveling international would be a learning experience and it’s better to learn in an environment you’re familiar with. This has mostly worked out, but we have also discovered a lack of motivation to revisit sites we’ve already seen, especially given Adah’s lack of interest. But, when in Paris, see the Eiffel Tower right?

We took a Metro into the city and then walked through the city, along the river until we happened uppon a children’s playground with a teetor totter and a slide. Adah was more than happy to run around and play while we ate a baguette and, cheese and meat spread, delish. As we sat, watched and filmed our little girl another small family arrived a lovely woman from Ireland and her daughter Kyra. Kyra, a few years older, took to Adah immediately and they had so much fun playing on the teeter and running around. “She’s like my new friend, even though she’s smaller.” Adah’s giggles of glee reflected her agreement. As Kyra left she held Adah’s face and sung to her. Seriously, the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.

We continued on to the Eiffel Tower on foot only to find that the space under the twoer is now fenced off along with the park immediately nearby. No problem, turns out there are a lot of toddler playgrounds nearby. Seriously, like eight. We went from playground to playground watching our little girl play blissfully unaware of the incredibly famous landmark looming overhead. What does that tower have on a slide and sand? We played until she fell asleep and went for pizza and coffee, Irish Coffee. The food was great, coffee was warm, perfect for such a cold day.

The trip home should have been so easy but the mixture of rush hour, a crying baby and some form suspect on the loose took us off the train and on to the streets to find a bus. After that same ole’ same ole’ market, food, dinner, blog, bed. With that in mind. Night Night.
